I’ll have in my heart a blank page always
So when I have a new friend
They’ll have a clean sheet to write on
I’ll have an eraser nearby
So when the spellings are all wrong
And when the ink spills on to the sheet
You can wipe it out and start again
Oh and I’ll have a pen
For you to write with
The laughs, the memories, the fears
A pen of life with ink like no other
And when with our tears sometimes
We blot the ink
And the writing is no longer clear
We’ll tear off that page and through it away
Where it cannot be found
And we'll turn a new page
And I’ll have a file right next to my heart
So we can store the pages
And keep the records of our memories
Of the joy and the happiness
Of the sorrows and the pain
Of the ups and downs
In a place safe
A library to go back to
And if you or I are no longer here
We’ll take out the pages from our store
And through the tears
We’ll see the writings
And we'll know that
At least we once lived
With the fullness that life deserves
And we had love
For these are the pages of our lives
